THE WHOLE STORY (SPOILERS!!!)

Alan visits a fruit stand run by the first Original Owner, who gently warns him about what happens to men who rewrite love. Alan hears only that there is a woman who could be convinced. He casts Pomum Prohibitum on a basket of figs and gives them to Bethany.

Daniel is shown in a library reading the same warning. Neither man looks up. The man in the background reads a newspaper dated 1964, then 1997, then 1964. Continuity: there were Owners before Alan.

⚖ CASE OF THE WEEK

The Fruit Stand v. The Estate of Eve: unlawful knowledge.

💭 INSIDE ALAN’S HEAD

Alan's monologue turns into a figs-based cooking show.

📖 CODEX LORE

THE ORIGINAL OWNER is introduced. He does not age. He does not blink.

My Two Cents

The most mysterious yet. The Original Owner has to be the key. His mouth moves a little before the sound, like the Reflection. I'm making a chart for the McBurger Files. I give it 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔 out of five burgers.

Best Quote

OWNER: Every book is a door. Some doors are only on one side.

Continuity Watch / Theories

Man in the background reading a newspaper: the date is 1964, then 1997, then 1964.
