THE WHOLE STORY (SPOILERS!!!)

Alan has been nice for eleven days and believes this entitles him to a woman. He keeps a ledger of favours with interest. When he realises the award is for kindness without expectation, he casts Merces Debita to make every woman he has ever held a door for owe him a date. The dinner turns into a dozen increasingly uncomfortable dates.

The trophy keeps engraving DANIEL. Ronnie, treasurer of the campaign, finds the ledger and a column labelled “debtors.” Continuity: the Codex keeps its own books.

⚖ CASE OF THE WEEK

The Boston Bar v. Kindness: Alan is nominated for Nice Guy of the Year.

💭 INSIDE ALAN’S HEAD

Alan keeps a ledger of favours. The Reflection is listed under 'debtors'.

📖 CODEX LORE

THE LEDGER: the Codex runs on debt. Alan's kindness ledger is a miniature copy.

My Two Cents

Funniest of the season so far!! The ledger bit is amazing. Also a little sad because Alan really thinks kindness is a transaction. Ronnie for president. I give it 🍔🍔🍔🍔 out of five burgers.

Best Quote

ALAN: I've been nice for eleven days. Where is my prize?

Continuity Watch / Theories

Engraver's name on the trophy was changed between takes. Is that on purpose? I paused it 9 times.
