THE WHOLE STORY (SPOILERS!!!)
Alan tries dating the old-fashioned way, meaning personals, answering machines and a dinner with Meredith that lasts three hours. When Meredith asks about his hobbies he says “women.” He casts Amor Compulsus and she finally laughs at his jokes.
Meredith has read the Codex. “It isn’t a how-to. It’s a warning label.” She walks away, the first reader who did. Continuity: the last scene repeats the cold open with different furniture.
⚖ CASE OF THE WEEK
Dating Division: a woman sues a man for exceeding the agreed love interest.
💭 INSIDE ALAN’S HEAD
Alan's personals ad is read aloud by a game-show host who loses interest.
📖 CODEX LORE
MEREDITH has read the Codex. She is the first reader who walked away.
My Two Cents
Cute and sad. The Meredith scenes were my favourite thing in the show for a minute. Then I remembered she probably isn't real. I give it 🍔🍔🍔 out of five burgers.
Best Quote
MEREDITH: I have read the book, Alan. It isn't a how-to. It's a warning label.
Continuity Watch / Theories
The last scene is a repeat of the cold open, only with different furniture.
