THE WHOLE STORY (SPOILERS!!!)

Alan takes a fence case and decides that every dispute between a man and a woman is really a boundary issue, in the man’s favour. He casts Limes Inviolabilis to draw a line down the middle of the courtroom that women cannot cross. The neighbours turn out to be a married couple who have been rewriting each other for years.

Daniel stands at the back, pointing at the line nobody else can see. Black water appears in the judge’s glass. Continuity: the Codex draws only one line, and Daniel can see it.

⚖ CASE OF THE WEEK

Boundary dispute: two neighbours and one invisible line.

💭 INSIDE ALAN’S HEAD

Alan imagines the fence as a divorce lawyer in a trench coat.

📖 CODEX LORE

THE LINE: the Codex draws one boundary between realities. Daniel can see it.

My Two Cents

Smart episode, kind of a puzzle. The married couple being a mirror of Alan and Bethany is clever, I did not see it until my second watch. The animated fantasy sequence is the best one yet. I give it 🍔🍔🍔🍔 out of five burgers.

Best Quote

ALAN: Nobody owns a line. They just rent it from whoever drew it.

Continuity Watch / Theories

Black water appears for the first time in the glass of water on the judge's bench. Write that down!!!
