THE WHOLE STORY (SPOILERS!!!)
Alan, newly senior partner, decides the real injustice is that she was ever allowed to apply. His “Women’s Place” memo proposes seating by gender; Rachel approves it purely for billing reasons. He casts Silentium Feminae to make the staff stop talking back, and the break-room microwave starts agreeing with him.
Elliot notices the office is unusually quiet and his list of Alan’s admirers now has 18 names. Bethany brings Alan coffee exactly how he takes it and cannot say why. Continuity: the Codex edits the world, and every edit leaves a small mistake behind.
⚖ CASE OF THE WEEK
Case: a woman fired for outperforming her boss.
💭 INSIDE ALAN’S HEAD
Alan imagines Bethany's laugh as a small orchestra that hangs up on him.
📖 CODEX LORE
RULE 2: Every wish arrives with an invoice. Rachel finds the first one in a drawer.
My Two Cents
Funny but a little creepy at the end?? The coffee thing. Alan looks happy but Bethany's smile is TOO PERFECT. I'm watching her eyes now. I give it 🍔🍔🍔🍔 out of five burgers.
Best Quote
BETHANY: How do you know I take it that way? ALAN: Lucky guess.
Continuity Watch / Theories
Bethany's wedding ring is missing in the coffee scene and back in the next. FOX continuity people, wake up!!
