THE WHOLE STORY (SPOILERS!!!)
Alan is tried in a courthouse that may be Hell, or a diner, or the unisex bathroom. Every woman he has rewritten testifies, including several he has forgotten. Bethany speaks in her real voice and says she doesn’t hate him, which is worse. The Reflection takes the judge’s chair and asks, again: “What if you were just unbearable?”
Alan opens the Codex and finds a blank page. The Reflection takes his seat. The credits roll in silence, followed by a single, slow clap from the laugh track.
⚖ CASE OF THE WEEK
The People v. McBurger.
💭 INSIDE ALAN’S HEAD
Alan has no internal monologue left. The room's is deafening.
📖 CODEX LORE
THE BLANK PAGE: the Codex has been rewritten. The pen is now somebody else's.
My Two Cents
I have nothing funny left. I'm not even sure the show is a comedy. I watched it 14 times. The judge IS him. I think Daniel was right all along. Please FOX, bring it back, and please let Bethany be okay. I give it 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔 out of five burgers.
Best Quote
BETHANY: I don't hate you, Alan. I just remember you.
Continuity Watch / Theories
The last shot has 12 people in the gallery. The first shot of the pilot had 12 people in the gallery. Count them.
